Hosted by Jeremy Mogford, Chairman of The Oxford Collection at Gee’s Gallery, the event will begin with a briefing from Open Roads for Oxford (ORFO) directors on the planned legal challenge to Oxfordshire County Council (OCC)’s proposed congestion charge scheme, followed by an open Q&A.

We have to act now. At their Extra Cabinet meeting on September 10th, OCC is expected to formally approve the congestion charge scheme. If we do nothing, the scheme is set to be introduced in November, likely decimating local trade and causing chaos to Oxford residents, including many of the city’s most vulnerable.

We intend for our legal team to deliver a Pre-Action Protocol letter to the Council on September 15th, after which the Council has two weeks to respond. If they respond by refusing to abandon the scheme, we have until December 9th to apply for judicial review. With such a short window of opportunity, we must be fully funded and ready to proceed by the time the Council issues its formal response.
